ALOHA FROM HONOLULU!!!

So we arrived at the airport in the early afternoon, and were so excited that we were finally in Hawaii!!!! After a five-hour flight from Sacramento we could finally tell we were in Hawaii when we saw all the palm trees.  We could see the Pacific Ocean, the harbor and Diamond Head from the plane as we landed. Once we got off the plane we had to walk a long way to find our luggage, but we did. It was so hot! When we left our homes earlier in the day it was only 37 degrees Fahrenheit and when we arrived in Honolulu it was 80!! After we grabbed our bags we met the Belo Monitors and met up with a few other exchange students. Then the bus driver, Jane, drove us to the hotel.  Jane was funny and talked a lot about the island. We drove by the biggest Catamaran boat in the world! She told us that there are 132 Hawaiian islands, and 8 main islands.

We got the hotel and its huge, we have a great room with a balcony! As soon as we could, we got the pool, because we were so hot, but as soon as we got in--it was cold! After the pool we went walked towards the beach and walked along the beach to find food, as soon as we saw the beach it made us want to jump right in. It made us really excited to go surfing tomorrow! We found a Hagen-daz ice cream and got some frozen yogurt.  We walked back to the hotel and saw that there were more exchange students who arrived, we hung out by the pool and met more students. It was so great to meet everyone and see that we came from all over the world! After we got a chance to talk to every one we finally got to eat dinner at the hotel!

We had a great time at dinner talking and laughing. The meal was really great: they had salad, meat, vegetables and really good Pineapple. Then Bernardo talked about the trip and showed us all the stuff we’re going to do. The worst part was when he showed us pictures us previous student’s sunburns!! It made us want to wear extra sunscreen! As he kept talking about all the activities during the week (surfing, snorkeling, hiking) it made us even more anxious and excited! We don’t want to leave!! Now we are very tired because of the time difference it’s 3:30 in the morning back home. So we’ll go to bed and wake up tomorrow to go surfing and we are SO excited…Aloha!!!
